OPERATION

Manual only shutters

  • Attach the handle to the wall pivot by capturing the pivot with the handle basket and twist slightly to lock in pivot pins.
  • Articulate handle at hinges by folding each section at 90-degree angles.
  • To raise shutter from a closed position, start to slowly turn handle. If the handle will not turn, reverse direction. Your shutter gearing has a built-in down limit setting, forcing this limit may cause damage to your shutter.
  • Once the up direction is established, continue turning the handle until the exterior shutter stops reach the shutter housing or to the level, you desire.
  • To lower the shutter, turn handle until all slats are closed and the down limit is reached (handle will not turn). Do not force beyond this point, as damage will occur).

Motorized shutters

  • Locate shutter switch and press Up (push top in) to raise shutter. Shutter may be stopped in mid run for sun control or privacy by returning the switch to the Neutral position (top and bottom are out). To continue running the shutter Up, press switch back in at the top and leave until the curtain reaches its upmost position. The shutter motor will automatically shut off when this occurs. Return the switch to the Neutral position.
  • To run the shutter Down, press the lower part of the switch in and leave until the shutter reaches it full down position and the motor automatically shuts off. Return the switch to Neutral. The shutter may also be stopped along its travel by returning the switch to Neutral.

Override motors

  • Override motors operate in the same manner as non-override motors with the exception that they may be operated during power outages.
  • To operate the shutter by switch, refer to “MOTORIZED SHUTTERS” section.
  • To operate during times of power outage refer to the “MANUAL ONLY SHUTTERS” section for attaching the handle and basic operation with the following important exception.
  • WARNING: Override motors do not have built-in UP or DOWN limits. BEFORE TURNING THE HANDLE, VERIFY THE PROPER UP AND DOWN DIRECTIONS. IF MODERATE RESISTANCE IS MET, STOP TURNING THE HANDLE AND TRY THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. Override motors operate off of a high differential gear ratio and will take substantially longer to roll up or down so allow for additional time as needed.
